Important Cost Saving Considerations

  1. Stain contracting costs are reduced significantly. The product arrives at the site sealed and stained with three stain applications from the plant. Your investment is immediately protected. One more stain application is done at the site when building is finished.
  2. No stack or weight concerns. Product installation costs are reduced due to speed and ease of application. The logs are 80% lighter than solid half logs. No crane is required.
  3. Low application costs. Oriented Strand Board (OSB) sheathing is already applied to the log. Logs can be applied to a sheathed wall, stud wall, or any existing exterior surface.
  4. Outstanding insulation factor for energy savings. Our product has four times the R-value (insulating value) of solid half-logs. Check with your local power company for possible rebates or for low interest loan opportunities.
  5. Excellent sound control with both exterior and interior applications.
  6. Structure is protected for the long-term. There is no cracking or shrinkage, major factors for minimizing maintenance costs compared to solid half-log siding.
  7. Far greater "reveal" or "shadow look" than typical solid half-log siding. The logs look rounder, fuller and less "busy" on your structure.
  8. Trim is stained at the plant and shipped with the order. There are no concerns about correctly matching the color of the trim to the logs.
  9. Three corner styles to choose from: square corners, round corners, and saddle-notch corners. Selections may be mixed from front to back of the building, depending on the desired look.
  10. Interior logs are pre-cut at the plant for quick and easy angle applications. Beams and accent walls create a dynamic look.
  11. Uses 80% less timber than solid half-log applications, a very environmentally friendly product. Your community and local officials will appreciate and respect your resourceful effort.
  12. Every building is custom priced. Log prices are based on square footage covering. Siding cost remains the same for 10”, 12”, 14” or 16” diameter logs of each style. Our Peeled Knotty Pine Half-Log Siding is $11.65 per square foot and our Cedar Embossed Hardboard Half-Log Siding is $7.90 per square foot. The average range for a residential home or cabin using pre-stained Peeled Knotty Pine Half-Log Siding is between $15,000 and $40,000 (including either 4x4 or 4x6 pre-stained Rough Sawn Cedar Trim for the entire home or cabin). The average range for a residential home or cabin using pre-stained Cedar Embossed Hardboard Half-Log Siding is between $12,000 and $28,000 (including the 4x4 or 4x6 pre-stained Rough Sawn Cedar Trim).
